Dr. Branko Grizelj was born in Grginac, near Bjelovara on 7th October in 1942. He has graduated in Unovarsity of Sarajevo (Machining) in 1965. Afterwards he has obtained masters degree at University of Zagreb in 1982. He has defended doctoral thesis at University of Zagreb in1995. Dr. Grizelj has finished the german language course in Slavonski Brod, and later germaln language course in "Berlitz Schule" located in Düseldorf (duration three months in 1977. and three months in1979). He was married with wife Mirom (family Rajbl), now deceased. His son Dejan is married withVilma Jurić Šolto, and has grandchildren Roka Gašpara and Borna Rafaela.
Dr.sc. Branko Grizelj has been the main constructor in the Construction biro from 1966 – 1973. Later on he was manager of the same Construction biro from the 1st August of 1973 until 15th May of 1985 year. Afterwards he was the director of the sector for process planning and manufacturing in the company "RO Production of industrial facilities and nuclear equipment Đuro Đaković" from 15th May of 1985 year to 23rd May of 1989 year. Afterwards he has been working as representative of "Đuro Đaković" in Oberhausen Germany (1989.-1990.). From the 1st October of 1990 year until today he is employed at Mechanical Engineering faculty in Slavonski Brod. At the same time he is honorary teacher on Polytechnic school in Slavonski Brod (VUSB) from 2006, and from 2007 on Polytechnic school in Varaždin.
His teaching activities has begun in the 1969 year in the High school of Đuro Salaj university, with the honorary lectures. He was honorary employed at the High school up to the 1979 year. From the 1979 to 1990 year he is employed as the honorary assistant at the Mechanical Engineering faculty in Slavonski Brod.
From 1990 to 1995 year he has been employed as a teacher at Mechanical Engineering faculty, and from 1996 to 1999 he was employed as the docent. In the 2000 he has obtained title of associate professor and from 19th of May 2003 title of full professor. Ad from 17th of XII 2013 professor emeritus. In the time period form 22nd September 1997 to 22nd March 1998 he has been awarded with the DAAD scholarship for the academic staff, and later on he has been working at Bremen Polytechnic school in Germany as the guest professor.
Dr.sc. Branko Grizelj was vice dean for lectures at Mechanical Engineering faculty in Slavonski Brod from 1995 – 1997. From the 1997 – 1999 year, he was vice-dean for science at the same faculty. Later on he was vice dean for lectures from 2001 – 2004 year.
In the 2005 he has become the President of the Casting and Metal Forming Chair, and has held that position until nowadays. Dr sc. Grizelj is a member of the Matic Committee for the area of technical sciences – field of engineering, ship building, transport technologies, air and space tehnologies from the 2009-2013 year.
Dr.sc. Grizelj has been involved as the teacher on the after graduate study of production engineering technologies in Mechanical Engineering faculty in Slavonski Brod. He is a member of the executive board HUPS. He was member of the Editor council of the Osijek University, and he was the president of the Croatian association of tool makers subsidiary in Slavonski Brod.
Dr.sc. Grizelj is the author of the books "Metal forming – (Oblikovanje metala deformiranjem) , 2002." , "Tools and devices – (Alati i naprave), 2004.","Metal forming machines – (Strojevi za oblikovanje metala deformiranjem), 2007.", "Cutting and milling tools – (Rezni alati noževi glodala), 2007.", "Sheet metal forming – O(blikovanje lima deformiranjem), 2009.", "Volumetric metal forming – (Volumensko oblikovanje deformiranjem), 2012.". He has published 13th scientific papers SCI database, 5 scientific papers in the Key Engineering Materials database, one paper published in the Slovenian technical magazine indxed in SCI database, and four scientific papers indexed in the Current Contents. About 130 of his papers was published it the proceedings from international scientific congresses. Dr.sc. Grizelj has actively participated on the more than 80 scientiffic symposiums in the Hrvatskoj and abroad, and he has lectured two invited papers on the conferences. He was main researcher on the project "Process simulation and CAD/CAM method for precision improvement). Nowadays he is the main researcher of the project: CAD/CAM technology for the modern tool production used for the high strength steel in 4D /2006. do 2012./.

Scientific research area of dr.sc. Branko Grizelj is oriented to the technical sciences, the field of engineering which is further refined to the area of the Metal forming technologies. His scientific papers were always oriented to metal forming technologies and real production problems, and mostly financed by the Croatian Ministry of Science.
