Pejo Konjatić was born on April 19th 1976 in Slavonski Brod, Republic of Croatia. He finished secondary Technical high school in Slavonski Brod in 1995, course mechanical technician. In the same year he enrolled at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod where he graduates in year 2001 with thesis "Cost effective design analysis of welded structures" with mentorship of prof.dr.sc. Ivan Samardžić.
Since December 2001 he is employed as young researcher at Mechanical Design Department of Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod on project "Estimation of structure resistance from the fracture mechanics point of view" (0152-018) lead by prof.dr.sc. Franjo Matejiček, and currently he is employed on project "Analysis and fracture estimation of constructions made of anisotropic materials" (152-1201910-1909) lead by prof.dr.sc. Dražan Kozak.
He is collaborator on two international projects: "An influence of surface treatment processes on the fatigue behaviour under multiaxial loading" - Croatian-Austrian project and "Application of fracture mechanics in revitalization of energy structural components" - Croatian-Slovenian scientific project.
He is author and coauthor of a number of scientific and professional papers published in journals and proceedings of scientific professional conferences in English and Croatian language.
He is actively involved in work on scientific projects as well as on project for industry.
Beside research work he is actively engaged in teaching on Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod in the following courses: Mechanics I, Mechanics II, Strength of Materials, Finite element method and Fracture mechanics and he also teaches Mechanics I, Mechanics II and Strength of Materials on Polytechnics in Slavonski Brod.
In 2009 as a part of Bilateral Mobility Program of University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek he spent a month at University of Pecs, Pollack Mihaly Faculty of Engineering, Hungary.
He is additionally trained on seminars related to fracture mechanics and structural integrity assessment: FITNET 2nd Training Seminar, Maribor, Slovenia, in year 2004 and Nonlinear Fracture Mechanics Models, International Centre for Mechanical Sciences (CISM), Udine, Italia, in year 2008.
He received his Ph.D. dissertation with thesis „Analysis of influence of weld geometry and mechanical properties of weld materials on fracture behaviour of repaired welded joint" in year 2010 on Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod.
He is trained and qualified as computer operator in software for drawing, construction, and 3D modeling AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, SolidWorks and SolidEdge. He uses software for finite element analysis ANSYS and ANSYS Workbench.
He is member of Croatian Society of Mechanics, fluent in English, married and lives in Slavonski Brod.
